Alternative to oral hypoglycemic agent
Composition:
Each capsule contains Momordica
charantia (Bitter melon) standard fruit powder ........ 400 mg.
(New modified formulation has been made to obtain the efficacy of previous 500 mg content)
Pharmacological actions:
Momordica charantia contains pharmacologically
active substances like triterpenoids, polypeptide-P and alkaloids. They can normalize the high blood sugar level of diabetic patient by the following ways.
- Triterpenoids reduce sugar absorption up to 30-40% by forming sugar-triterpenoid complex which can not readily absorb by the intestine.
- Triterpenoids enhance normal insulin synthesis by acting as co-enzyme in this process.
- Polypeptide-P (also known as P-insulin) increases number of insulin receptors. So, there is more binding sites for insulin and therefore good peripheral utilization of glucose.
- Alkaloids and triterpenoids stimulate regeneration of b-cells of pancreas.
- Momordica charantia reduces insulin resistance by suppressing the release of anti-insulin antibody from the immune system.

Indications:
For prevention and treatment of Diabetes
mellitus.
Side effects:
Diabe-herb® has a wide margin of
safety. There will be no side effect in therapeutic dose.
Contraindication:
Pregnancy
Interaction:
Diabe-herb®has synergistic
hypoglycemic effect with insulin and additive hypoglycemic effect with
other oral hypoglycemic agents. Reduce the dose of these drugs when
use together with Diabe-herb®. Consult with physician for dose
adjustment. Diabe-herb® has no interaction with other drugs and
alcohol.
Advantages over oral hypoglycemic agent:

terpene deficiency.
- Can use long-term.
Dosage:
For Prevention - one capsule daily
half hour before meal.
For treatment - one to two
capsules three times daily half hour before meal.
