Composition
Each tablet contains Gynura procumbens standard leaf powder ...300mg.
One of the metabolic and genetic risk factors for health of people is diabetes. Active Constituents
Gynura procumbens contains sterols (b-sitosterol and stigmasterol), sterol glycosides (3-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl b-sitosterol, 3-O-b-D-glucopyranosyl stimasterol), nonadecane, phytyl valerate, adenosine, kaempferol-3-O-neohesperidoside, methyl hexadecanoate, methyl 9-octadecenoate, 4-hydroxy-4-methyl-2-pentanone, stigmasterol acetate, quercetin-O-caffeoylquinic acid, 1, 2-bis-dodecanoyl-3-a-O-D-glucopyranosyl-Sn-glycerol.
Pharmacological Actions
In Southeast Asia, the plant is considered to be of medicinal value. It has been traditionally used in folk medicine to self medicate a variety of conditions and ailments ranging from migraines, constipation, hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The active constituents of Gynura procumbens leaves are reported to show hypoglycemic effect in laboratory animals. The ethanol extract of Gynura procumbens was reported to be anti-hyperglycemic and anti-hyperlipidemic activities in diabetic rats. The extract of Gynura procumbens leaves may have biguanide-like activity. The extract showed similar effect to metformin by improving glucose tolerance (OGTT) in STZ-induced diabetic rats. The methanol extract and n-butanol fraction exerted a significant hypoglycemic effect when administered orally to streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

Dosage
One capsule two times daily half-an-hour before meal or as directed by physician.
Caution
- To reduce the dosage of other hypoglycemic agent when use together with Gynu-Herb®.
- To consult with physician if taken during pregnancy.
