NEEM SKIN CREAM
For skin infection
Composition:
Each bottle contains 25 g of cream
containing Azadirachta indica leave extract 5% as main active
ingredient.
Pharmacological actions:
There are several active compounds in
the Neem skin cream. Azadirachtin is the most active compound, which is
a group of tetranor-triterpenoid. Several other compounds also have
antifungal, antiscabies, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory action.
Indications:
Dermatophytosis ( Tinea infection),
bacterial skin infection, dry or infected scabies, skin abrasion and
superficial wounds.
Dosage:
The cream should be applied liberally to affected area three times daily
as indicated until
healing is complete. The duration of treatment is usually one week in
case of skin abrasion, scabies and bacterial skin infection. It should
be 6-8- weeks in case of tinea infection to eradicate the fungi in
all skin layers.
It can be used together with oral and parenteral anitibiotic or
anitfungal agents of western medicine, for synergism effect.
Side effects:
Local application of Neem is virtually
nontoxic and nonsensitizing and is well tolerated by all age groups
including infants.
Caution:
Cleaning of the affected skin area is
necessary before first application.
